Paul & Lisa Madson (President)
Paul Madson was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, the third of four children. While in Jr. High, he came to know Christ. It was during High School that he really began to grow in his relationship with God, thanks to the influence of a Campus Crusade for Christ staff member and the youth pastor at his home church. Paul felt called to full-time ministry when he was a Junior in High School. After graduating from High School, he went on to attend Southwestern Bible College, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries.
The summer before his sophomore year, he was asked to come on staff as Youth Intern at Northwest Community Church. It was during this same year that Paul met and fell in love with Lisa. They were married in the Fall of 1980. In December, Paul was asked to come on staff full-time at Northwest Community Church. He gave leadership to the Jr. High ministry from 1980 until 1983, and in 1984 transitioned into leading the High School ministry. He gave leadership there until May of 1988 when he was given an opportunity to attend Seminary. It was at this time that Paul and Lisa decided to move their family to Portland, Oregon where Paul began to pursue his Master of Divinity degree.
In January of 1990, they moved back to the Phoenix area so that Paul could finish his degree at Western Seminary’s Phoenix campus (now Phoenix Seminary). In the Spring of 1990 the elders of Northwest Community Church gave the green light for Paul to plant a daughter church in the Peoria, Arizona area (a suburb of Phoenix). In the Fall of that same year, New Life Community Church was birthed. New Life began with about 125 adults and children from Northwest Community Church, and grew to include over 2,000 people who called it their church home.
Paul and Lisa have three adult children and currently live in Peoria, Arizona. Paul’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries from Southwestern College, a Master of Divinity degree in Ministerial Studies from Western Seminary and some work on his Doctorate at Phoenix Seminary.
