Please remember to pray for our dear brothers and sisters in Christ in the state of Orissa, India who have been and continue to be persecuted for their faith in Christ. Many of GTN’s international staff and partners have been affected by the radical Hindu political group that is dead set on eliminating Christianity completely from India! By God’s grace and protection, none have lost their lives yet.

Can you imagine if someone walked into your house and said this: “Paul (or insert your name here), either reconvert to Hinduism right now and deny your belief in Jesus Christ or you and your family will die. We’ll torture your wife and children first while you watch, and then we’ll kill them in front of your eyes. You have one minute to answer us or the torture and killings will begin.”

What would you do? This is exactly what many believers in Jesus Christ are facing RIGHT NOW in Orissa, India! The stories of their steadfast faith in Christ in the midst of this kind of persecution is truly inspiring and humbling! In the midst of your busy life, please don’t forget them!

This pastor, Rev. R.K. Digal, and his family lost almost all their material belongings in the persecution – their home, car, bicycles were all burnt to the ground by mobs. Please pray for believers like Reverend Digal and his family.

Pray as well for the severe flooding in Orissa, which has already swept away over 5,000 homes and continues to cause damage, as well as complicate the relief situation.
